		<description>Another thing which is often overlooked is what programs are started automatically when you start your computer. These are often without your knowledge which can end up slowing down your PC as they use valuable memory.

On XP you can see the list of programs which are started automatically by going to START&gt;Run&gt;typing msconfig then click on Ok.

On the screen which appears select the Startup tab and there you can uncheck programs which you do not want to start automatically.  At the end of the day if you need them you will start them any way.</description>
