Fifosys partner and virtualisation giants Citrix Systems, today announced its acquisition of RingCube, a leader in user personalisation technology for virtual desktops.

RingCube made their mark in the technology industry when they gave a dramatic performance at the Demo show. (Demo is where start-ups get just 6 minutes to showcase their products and technology.) CTO Michael Larkin appeared to knock his laptop on the floor sending the stage screens dark. He then casually plugged in his iPod into the port of a colleague’s laptop and his desktop loaded into the machine’s memory.

RingCube’s innovative technology takes virtual desktop adoption to the next level by eliminating the trade off between user personalisation and centralised IT management. When combined with a desktop virtualisation product like Citrix XenDesktop, RingCube makes it easier for IT to give each user a personalised virtual desktop. This includes a full operating system and user profile settings, plus all of the applications users require — whether local or streamed.

What does this mean for consumers?

• Dramatically reduced cost of storage
• Simplified transition from physical to virtual desktops.
• Gives end users all the personalisation benefits of a ‘dedicated’ VDI desktop
• Offers IT administrators all the cost benefits of a ‘pooled’ VDI desktop
• Increases deployment of virtual desktops to every user companywide

To learn more about RingCube, you can visit www.ringcube.com.

“The acquisition of RingCube underscores our chief goal of enabling users to access their desktops and applications on any device, and making virtual desktops simple and affordable for IT. As customers take on enterprise-wide desktop transformation initiatives, Citrix is in the best position to provide a broad range of technology delivering multiple types of virtual desktops that satisfy every user in the enterprise. RingCube technology adds a significant capability to provide users and IT flexible, personal VDI desktops at a much lower cost.”
Bob Schults, Group Vice President, Enterprise Desktops and Applications at Citrix

Fourth-Annual Research Report Identifies The World’s Top 100 Managed Service Providers (MSPs)

February 17, 2011: Fifosys has landed on Nine Lives Media Inc.’s fourth-annual MSPmentor 100, a distinguished list and research report identifying the world’s top 100 managed service providers (MSPs). This year’s MSPmentor 100 report includes MSPs from North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.

“It is a great honour to be included in the MSPMentor 100 for 2011”, said Mitesh Patel, MD of Fifosys. “Fifosys has found a niche within this part of the market for its range of premium-quality services and this will continue to be the reason for our success in 2011 and beyond.”

The MSPmentor 100 report, available at http://www.MSPmentor.net/top-100-msps, is based on data from MSPmentor’s global online survey, conducted October-December 2010. The MSPmentor 100 report recognizes top managed service providers based on a range of metrics, including annual managed services revenue growth, revenue per employee and customer devices managed.

“Nine Lives Media Inc. and MSPmentor congratulate Fifosys for earning this distinguished honor,” said Amy Katz, CEO of Nine Lives Media Inc. “The annual MSPmentor 100 survey attracts participants from across the globe. Qualifying for the final MSPmentor 100 list is a great accomplishment.”

“We continue to see accelerating momentum for the world’s top MSPs,” added Joe Panettieri, editorial director of MSPmentor. “The top 100 MSPs generated more than $1 billion in recurring revenues for 2010, up 27 percent from 2009. That’s remarkable growth considering the challenging global economic landscape in 2010.”

MSPmentor, produced by Nine Lives Media Inc., is the ultimate guide to managed services. MSPmentor features the industry’s top-ranked blog, research, Webcasts and FastChat videos. It is the number one online media destination for managed service providers in the world.

Fifosys has acquired Octavia Information Systems to create one of the largest IT Outsourcing businesses servicing the SME market in London and Europe.

The acquisition creates a company with 50 highly qualified IT professionals with skills encompassing Microsoft, Citrix, Asigra, VMWare, Juniper, Cisco, BlackBerry, Vodafone and more.

What Mitesh, our MD, has to Say

“Growth through acquisition has been part of our long term strategy over the last 2 years and after several failed attempts I am glad to say that this could not have worked out better. I actually modelled the first Fifosys website against Octavia’s in 2002 and even lost two staff to them in 2005. Yes, one who remains was more than surprised when I turned up.”

“Fifosys has grown through our clients’ growth and it was important to ensure that our model for outsourcing was scalable. Through this acquisition Fifosys is now in a position to adopt a real focused structure and further reduce the risk exposure for our client base. We have been taking the outsourced model to businesses as large as 350 staff that still do not employ any full time staff on their payroll. Now, we are even more confident that we have the right staff and spread of skilled engineers with the experience to continually add value to our clients’ business.”

“Our 100% client retention has helped this happen and for that, we thank you all and look forward to working with you in 2011.”

The Key to our success

The key to our success is in the following statements, which are at the heart of our business:

• Just because a client does not complain, it does not mean they are happy.
• Just because we do not hear from a client, it does not mean we are meeting their expectations.
• Just because we send clients reports, it does not mean that they read/understand them.
• Just because we think we are adding value, it does not mean they do.

What this Means for our Clients

Fifosys, along with Octavia, will continue to provide our trademark high standards of consultancy, IT support, network infrastructure, cloud computing, data backup and recovery and mobile services.
With an increased knowledge base and skill set, our clients will benefit greatly from this deal whilst still receiving the same high levels of service they have come to expect from the respective companies. By combining the passion, creativity and expertise of two leading-edge service providers, we will continue to drive innovations that help SMEs across the UK.

With more engineers on the service desk we will be able to provide faster resolutions to incidents, longer hours of support cover and with the introduction of the new Technical Team Leader layer be focused on knowing the specific infrastructure of the clients they are allocated. This personal approach will support our mission to consistently add value across our client base.

“Octavia have 80+ clients who all have an in house IT solution and we look forward to supporting them to move to the Cloud for a long term stable infrastructure”

We are always looking at ways to expand the current services we offer at Fifosys and , based on client requests, we have entered the business mobile phone market. We decided to partner up with Vodafone.

We chose Vodafone as they are the world’s leading mobile telecommunications company. Along with their strong market presence, they have a great range of business packages and products, with close to 100% network coverage (both UK and abroad), which we can now offer direct to you.

Over the years, we have built strong client relationships and gained a great understanding of our clients’ needs. We understand the importance of staying connected and the impact it has on business. With this in mind this new initiative will allow us to offer a high standard of service and support for both mobile phones and IT.

Unfortunately as we all know technology is not built to last. When our blackberry or mobile phone becomes faulty or starts playing up, the obvious solution would be call for help. But who might that be

a) Your IT provider

b) Your assigned telecoms account manager or

c) The network direct

All too often we are faced with this scenario which leads to dead ends and time wasted in a calling queue with little or no results.

This won’t be the case with Fifosys. A benefit of being a Vodafone Business Partner is that we can contact Vodafone’s engineers directly and they will action our requests in little or no time.

Our Service Desk staff have been trained to deal with all telecom related queries. To strengthen the team we have recruited Babs Badhwal (Mobile Services Manager) who has over 10 years of telecoms knowledge and experience and will be overseeing this department. Babs will always be on hand to offer advice and assistance wherever possible.

Our aim is to continue to provide the highest level of support and services, allowing you to focus on the most important thing – your business.

If you would like to speak directly with Babs, please feel free to contact her directly on 0207 664 2610 or via our web contact form.

Following the success of our recent Cloud Computing for Business event at le Meridien Hotel Piccadilly, Fifosys are releasing a new series of articles entitled “Blue Sky Thinking on Cloud Computing”.

50 guests from leading UK business attended the event at the prestigious Le Meridien Hotel in Piccadilly. It was an educational seminar aimed at giving business men and women the facts about how cloud computing can benefit their organisations. Mitesh Patel, the MD of Fifosys, gave the main presentation outlining the key information in this area, through the use of real life Fifosys client case studies. This was followed by an opportunity for networking.

Rory O’Shaughnessy, from Inside Job Ltd, a 20-man, office moving company, commented that it was “an informative evening together with very generous hospitality.”

The 3 articles, written by Mitesh, outline the benefits and risks associated with Cloud Computing as well as the advantages of a managed cloud solution.

Mitesh Patel says “We like the Cloud. Our clients like the Cloud. They like the way it offers fast, on-demand services without the need for long-term commitment in resources and applications. They like the way it supports their mobile employees as well as office-based teams. They like its flexibility and the opportunities for them to grow and enhance their IT services portfolio at low risk. As we’re talking about properly-managed environments hosted by a reliable, expert supplier, we believe the Cloud can deliver some serious benefits to your business IT environment.”
