Three basic steps to protect your data.

Cyber Security Centre race to prepare for future cyber-attacks. How protected is your Data?

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has been working to mitigate the impact of recent ransomware attacks and defend against viruses in the future.

The Metropolitan Police is in the process of upgrading its IT Infrastructure but still runs Windows XP on 10,000 computers at offices and police stations across London.

Fifosys recommend three basic steps IT managers could use to protect their IT Business infrastructure.

1. Update security software patches regularly

2. Use verified antivirus software

3. Use Cloud Computing for backing up critical data

You cannot be held to ransom for data safeguarded off-site. Ransomware is very common and very damaging but there are simple things people can do to protect themselves to minimise the risk.

Where Britain was cumbersome to cyber threats, organisations across every sector now know the need to implement preventive measures against an attack.

Cyber was recognised as THE national security issue in 2010.

Why was the NCSC launched 6 years later in 2016?

It was a matter of time before Britain was hit by a destructive cyberattack as sophisticated attempts are levelled at businesses every month.

More than two thirds of all big business endured a ransomware attack in 2016 and the NCSC is resolute about cultivating resilience.

Most people do not know where they should turn for support and assistance in the event of a major emergency like in May and June 2017.
