Technical Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager from the MSP and IT services sector to join our growing team at Fifosys. The role is central to the successful delivery of multiple projects that provide IT infrastructure, cloud and architectural services for our clients.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will ensure that every project is tightly scoped, well governed and delivered on time, within budget and to a consistently high standard. You will coordinate technical resources, manage stakeholders and keep delivery aligned to client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Role overview

You will oversee the delivery of concurrent projects, ensuring governance is followed and that each engagement is set up for success. You will work closely with our Project Engineers, coordinating resources and supporting the development of clear project plans, documentation and reporting.

A key part of the role is to manage the expectations of internal and external stakeholders, maintain accurate project artefacts and ensure a smooth handover to the Service Desk at the end of each project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects and programmes from initial planning through to delivery, ensuring project governance is followed throughout.
• Work with Project Engineers to formulate project plans, define requirements and plan the full project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
• Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals and milestones.
• Manage and schedule engineering resource to ensure successful project implementation.
• Ensure project plans, resourcing and documentation are reviewed and approved at appropriate stages.
• Manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, clearly communicating client requirements to the relevant teams.
• Coordinate third party suppliers involved in the delivery of the overall solution.
• Maintain risk registers, issues logs and decision logs for all assigned projects, keeping them current.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget and in line with agreed scope and quality standards.
• Oversee the handover of completed projects to the Service Desk, including documentation, diagrams, configurations, licensing information, key contacts and third party contracts.
• Work with Finance to ensure all project work and any ongoing costs are invoiced correctly.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of the Fifosys Project Framework.
• Assist in developing technical work instructions and reusable building blocks.
• Assist with technical review of project proposals to ensure accuracy of solution, effort and cost estimates.
• Capture lessons learned and provide feedback to relevant teams, ensuring follow up actions are logged.
• Contribute to the company’s commercial objectives through effective and profitable project delivery.

What you will bring

Required

• Strong technical knowledge of the common Fifosys product stack, or similar MSP offerings.
• Proven project leadership experience in an MSP or IT services environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks and priorities across multiple projects.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to adapt messaging to different audiences.
• Ability to balance business and technical requirements to produce realistic project plans and estimates.

Desirable

• Strong presentation skills, confident in managing internal and external stakeholders.
• Formal project management certification, for example PMP, PRINCE2 or similar.
